Giving back to your childhood

Heading out the door to counsel a bunch of kiddies for the next week at Koronis Bible Camp in Paynesville, MN.

Counseling is a great way to give back to others, share your story and enjoy the outdoors...and a great work out!

Koronis is a smaller family camp with different ages separated into different 'camps'. I will be working with the 'junior' camp, aka 4th-7th graders by leading outdoor and indoor activities, water sports, helping with meals, sharing stories and supporting them in all ways. I will definitely have my hands full!

Ripening the wine experience

I’m not the first consumer that’s been interested in learning more about wine. I’ve barely skimmed the surface.

I have many, many friends who know a great deal about wine, connections that blog about wine and even cards at home that tell about wine.

I’ve read that it is entirely possible and even necessary to buy wine that’s affordable. Wine lists are so vast that it’s hardly appropriate to spend a ridiculous amount of money, especially if the occasion doesn’t call for it.

Here are some resources I’ve used to ripen my knowledge and experience:

1. Gary Vaynerchuk’s Wine Library

2. The Onologist’s Wine Blog

3. Wine Spectator

4. My nearby Wine and Spirits wine experts

5. Wikipedia
